My Favorite Holiday: 4th of July! ? ??

I know that for lots of people, Christmas is their favorite. But for me, I love the 4th of July! When I had been doing a lot better financially, I would throw the biggest parties on the block. I had a lot of great memories of this holiday from that period of my life.

Even though things changed a bit, my enthusiasm for the day hasn’t waned. And ever since I’ve been back to Huntington Beach, where it has a great parade and amazing fireworks, I look forward to being downtown and at the beach for all the festivities!

This was my second year doing it without “someone special” in my life. So it wasn’t quite the same. Like anyone else, I’m sure… I love sharing my favorite things with someone close to me. However, again, this year it was just me.

I can be okay with that… It’s kind of what today’s the verse of the day reminds me of. There’s a little bit of suffering even in the midst of joyous times. So as good as all this is in my beautiful little corner of the world, it’s still not perfect.

But I look forward to the day when Jesus comes and takes us home with Him. At that time, all suffering will end and we will live in paradise for eternity.

I hope you are there with me. That will be a real day of celebration, for sure!
